- I use food-safe glazes over non- toxic clay (brown and white) for every piece that I make.
- I use my pieces in the microwave, dishwasher, and never have an issue, but it is up to you to decide. If you place in the dishwasher make sure you pack them with softer/plastic pieces around them to reduce the chances of chipped edges. If you place in the microwave, just stand by to ensure everything is okay. Rule of thumb: If the pot gets hotter then the liquid inside the pot, then you should avoid placing in the microwave. This shows the pot is heating faster then the liquid and can cause issues. Bottom line: hand-washing will ensure your pot has a nice, long life with you.
- My pots are not tested for oven use, however they have been fired in my kiln up to around 2200 degrees Fahrenheit so it should with stand the high temperature of the oven. If you choose to use my pots in the oven be sure the pot is at room temperature prior to placing in the oven to avoid cracks.
- A general rule: never put boiling water into a cold pot; instead, let the pot warm up to room temp or above before pouring in hot water. This also applies if the pot is hot (straight from a hot dishwasher for example) and you put cold water with ice.
- My pots are not tested on stove top (burners or glass) and is not recommended.
If you run across an issue with your new pot, please don't hesitate to let me know. (I am only human; I make mistakes). I do not guarantee a refund or exchange, as all my work is handmade and therefore not always reproducible, but we can work out a solution individually. Please just send me an email with a photo of the piece and a brief description.
I hope you love your new piece and I Thank you for your business!
